BIOGRAPHY

ALEX HUDISH & AROUND MIDNIGHT

webshot

"Music in general is really simple. A great part of my life has been dedicated to describing different things and themes in sound. I haven't skipped any musical genre on my way to where I am today. I've been fond of soft and hard rock, Irish and Balkan folk, as well as trip hop and club music. What made me stop on lounge electronica were mostly fresh European acts. I fell in love with the intelligent, mellow grooves of the French duo Air, Icelandic enigmas Sigur Ros and Mum, enchanting Norwegians Royksopp and The Knife and many more.

I think I found what I've always been looking for in music-making: to make simple music people would enjoy without asking questions, music to make you fall in love over and over again... wake up on the right side of the bed... smile for no good reason... just because we can."

Born and raised in a musical family in the Ukraine, Alex has a passion for music since the age of 5, when he learned to play the first notes on the piano.

Growing up, Alex drew his inspiration from the classical giants and worked hard to master the piano. His first live performance in front of a large audience was at age 10 at a large music conservatory in his home town.

Alex HudishAlex then moved to Israel to discover the Western way of life for the first time.

It was simply overwhelming! MTV was blown to full volume and Alex has quickly adapted to the new soundscape and began his musical journey into the music most of you were raised upon.

He then picked an acoustic guitar and learned how to play it from scratch. These were the rock & metal years, mostly spent on listening to dudes that looked like ladies.

The 90's were all about one PC and a MIDI keyboard. As the years went by and home-computer studio setup became more accessible, Alex has spent much time mastering the art of electonic music. He is influenced by such acts as Massive Attack, Royksopp, Air, Zero 7, and Thievery Corporation; the more acoustic Hooverphonic, Jamiroquai, Sigur Ros and many many others...

Alex Hudish - OneBroadening and developing his skill and musical taste all the time, Alex started his musical career in 2007, focusing on composing fine chill-out tunes. The debut LP, "One", was complete in 2008. The album is a fresh perspective on modern electronica: rhodes, guitars and synths, downtempo vinyl and electronic grooves, and symphonic layers - "One" is an attempt to create an extraordinary experience. It combines the familiar with the unknown, the genuine with the artificial.

Collaborations with other artists and record labels were soon to follow after Alex's tracks started playing online. Lemongrassmusic has since picked up the track "At Ease" and placed it on several MP3 and CD compilations and many online stores, including iTunes. Recently, Audio Lotion Recordings released "At Ease" on "Chill In Paradise Volume 3".

AROUND MIDNIGHT

Continuing to evolve musically and compose some of the most interesting tracks in the chill-out scene - Alex has launched another project, called Around Midnight. The first track off the upcoming album, Zeroes and Ones - named "Even So" - was released independently on Around Midnight Music and it has hit the digital stores in July 2009.
